In my initial designs, I mentioned using contact lenses to create an instant sinister effect. Instead I will use photoshop to change my models eyes, as I must follow health and safety advice, as I would be held responsible if my model had an issue.

Discussing a potential idea for a wig/ hair piece, gave me the oportuinty to explain the appearance I want to achieve for my makeup. To enable me to create a new hairline, and add in wefts for hair length, it was decided that I would need to create two separate ahir pieces to achieve this.

By making a wire weft, I will be able to construct a diamond mesh shape, to fill a long section of hair down the back of the hair to add length. To create a new hairline, I would knot a small triangular shape of hair to attach to my models natural hairline, using tabs and spirit gum to secure the piece in place.

To diffuse the hairpiece into the prosthetic piece, I could lay on sparce hair to create a less harsh distinction between the hairline and the prosthetic piece.

I will also look at Hair artist -

Her hair pllication method consists of layer of ap plastic on a silicone sheet, ono which hair is applied to and once dry, peeled off and applied almost as a flat piece. This would enable me to apply hair to a large area of the body.

Dominie Till would be a good reference artist for hair punching when I hair punch my appliances.

I wanted to look into artwork fron Dark Souls, which is a very dark and medieval influenced video game.

Carolyne - during this tutorial, it was discussed that my areas of research were appropriate and there was enough for me to form my project around. Research will be revisited as my project develops so extra research will help me link my practical work in clearly as it develops.

Carolyne also mentioned thaat it's important that my research clearly links and informs my deigns, which I will ensure is clear when annotation my deisgns.

It was mentioned that drawn designs will be needed to demonstrate full use of makeup, using colour and textures. So for each design I drew a head on image and  profile image to display th eangles of the hair and makeup clearly.

Finally I will need to profuce full length designs, but I am waiting for costume designs to be sent over so I can recreate the whole look for my final design.

Peter Tindall

During this tutorial I asked about moulding my ears, it was suggested that i do hand an inch thick around my my sculpt itself, and fill in the ear crevices to avoid undercuts.

We then discussed an issue that I had forgotten to put grounding in the eyes too, which I thought had destroyed my chances of getting a thin blending edge around the eyes.

I then decided to ask Stuart Bray if he knew a way of working around this. Cap plastic patches were suggested and this idea was then confirmed by pete, as he also mentioned that this method has also been used to blend edges on makeups such as the Orcs on Lord of The Rings. These were called blending strips. Pete suggested that bolt holes in the eyes should be enough to giv e tight, thin blending edge.

I also asked about alternative materials to make teeth. We discussed that I had already tried using fast cast, and found thth this resin was ideal and could be painted. I could also try clear resin with white pigment (oil paint or polyurethane pigment). I could use FW Ink diluted with alcohol. Then to seal this and give a shine to the teeth, use a lacquer.

We also discussed combining flocking and hair punching. As a reference of existing work which does this, Petes personal website displays use of flocking and hairpunching on a warewolf.

Here's a rough drawing of what the grounding should look like. the ear shapes are filled in with clay to avoid undercuts. There are

Carolyne - during this tutorial, we recapped each LO to ensure I fully understood what each one entailed. From this I felt more confident in understanding what was exoected to meet each LO successfully.
