Animal Anatomy

For reference, I took pictures of my dogs teeth to look at canines. I thought this was an appropriate reference to follow, as my creature lives in the woods, like a wolf would. Within my designs I will use elements of the canine to help with my character synopsis, however this does not mean that my makeup  a canine or werewolf creature.

I chose to look at these images in particular as they are animals found within a forest. From looking at the shape of these different skulls, I was able to pick certain elements to create my hybrid character. The different types of face shapes were interessting to consider for when I sculpt my creatures nose. I would liek to avoid a wolf-like appearance, so I will experiment with combining the anatomy of the two animals above, Dog, Stag and Bull.

This series of photos shows different froms which make up the canine. The close up of teeth and gums are useful to look at if I decide to try and replicate this. Using certain elements only, will help me to steer clear of recreating a werewolf creature. Instead I intend on using these images to create an accurate representation of teeth which are used as weapons to feed upon prey.

Also the colouring and maintenance of the teeth will need to be considered, becasue as a domestic pet, the teeth shown in th ephotos are cared for and this particular dog is young and healthy.
