I feel that my makeup was a successful creature creation, and once put into context, became how I had imagined it sould be. It was very exciting to have this filmed and have a crew supporting my work and ideas. With input from film and photography, I feel that the best was bought out of the makeup, in the way it was shot and portrayed through camera and lighting.

During application, I experienced a few issues with applying the face piece, I feel that my assistant wasnt comfortable enough to communicate with me to ensure it was correct, or perhaps believed that they knew how to apply this. I said that it was positioned incorrectly and that it needed to be removed and re-adhered. I feel that she needed supervision, although I was certain that this was a  straight forward application they would be capable of.

Improvements, you have to make it work, remove the appliance and start again, apply spare piece instead, use someone you trust.
How to improve

hair piece, I would inprove the hair piece by using a mixture of silver and black hair witin the wefts, rather than majority silver. I think this would have enabled me to mak the hair piece part of my models hair, so there wouldn't be any disinct separation. As for the front piece, I think that I could have used longer hair to know with, as I believe it would have styled more uniformly with the hair piece. I should have loosened my models naturally curly, afro-hair, to enusre that the hair piece didnt look out of place. I feel that the textures weren't similar enough to have given an impression that the hairpiece belonged witht the rest of my models hair. Next time, to improve the application, I will sand down even further, any eye details left on the core I sculpted on, which I think would help me to get thinner blendable edges on my piece. I will also be careful with who I choose to help me with my application, as I wouldn't want to take any risks.

Overall makeuo and experience

Overall, I have enjoyed both theoretical and practical elements of this project. The outcome of the makeup was successful, as it achieved the characted I intended through both acting and the makeup. If I could shoot this again, I would to enure that he makeup was just how intended.
