Making a Wig
To make the template of my models head, I used:
-hair grips
-cling film
-sellotape
-marker pen
-measuring tape
I wrapped my models hair as flat as possible around her head, this was then wrapped in cling film, covering the ears and teh back of the neck. Securing with sellotape, I wrote in her measurements:
-circumfrence
-temple to temple
-front to back
-tip of ear to tip of ear
I managed to pad out the template successfully, making it easier to start pinnig the foundation in place.
Once pinned, I darted the lace to fit snug around the head. I then whipped the darts, cutting away any excess lace I didn't need.
In relation to this diagram, I used 'b' which had a front lace, foundation net, and a caul net on the back.
To set my wig, I need to consider methods of setting hair as the hair is supposed to appear styled on one half, and patchy ont he other. I would use larger rollers on the beautiful, groomed half of the hair, and create a frizzy, unhealthy texture. To achieve this I could crimp, creole or set the hair in smaller rollers and brush this out to break up the formation of curls..
When doing this, I also need to consider the hair type, as they would still be elements of similarity in the characteristics of the hair.
