Formative - Practive Makeup

For this formative, I will apply both hip pieces as these are the main pieces for my makeup look. I will also use this test run to ensure that the skin sculpt piece works as my model pulls this out of the silicone hip appliance.

This formative wil allow me to estimate the time needed to apply the pieces. I will have to consider the extra makeup features such as, face makeup, nails and the flat pieces to go on top of gafquat in the hair. I am not going to run through these features in the formative, as I have already practiced these as part of experimentation.

Applying Hip pieces

The fat hip was successful and looked realistic in its shape and position. This needs to be slightly more yellow to match my models skin tone. This piece was too pink and would take a while to match to my models skin. The edges on this piece wasn't completely successful as the piece didn't have many thin blending edges, which I discovered once I had opened my injected mould.

I tried to blend out the edge using cabopatch, this was fairly successful and I will use this if necessary, however my pieces will come out of the mould with finer blending edges next time.

Testing wound

The lumpy texture was due to practicing with an old skin sculpt, which meant it was used and past its best. This was also a pre-pigmented product for darker skin tones, meaning this would never be able to match my silicone piece. Ultimately, the skin layer will be stippled and colour matched to make the piece blend into the silicone wound edge.

The wound piece was too pale for my modela nd needed warming up slightly to match her yellow skin tone.

To prevent any colouring from peeling away from my wound, I will use silicone paint only and seal it with the silicone paint base.
