Pattern

With a diameter of 9.5cm and petals of 2cm height, my template was made slightly larger than the average of

8.5 cm.

I created 4 petals within the cenre ring and 8 petals in the outer ring.

Using an arms length of thread, I pinned points on the pattern and began wrapping thread around the pins,

working my way to the outer circle, which I marked with tippex before continuing completing the circle. I then

marked the tread when I finished the circle. This allowed me to measure the amout of silk thread needed and

at what point to change the weaing technique.

This sample shows a variation of knotting with dofferent amounts of hair. Working from left to right, the bulk knotting is on the left and the finer knotting on the right is used for the circumfrence of the chignon.

This process was simple when knotting, but I had to pay careful attentiton to how tort the strings were at all times to avoid any hair coming loose.
