The term Bollywood originates from a combination of Hollywood and Bombay - the center of the film world.

Bollywood first cambe about in black and white silent films in 1913 in films such as  "Raja Harishchandra. This was the first Indian film released by Dhundiraj Govind Phalke. At the time, acting wasn't seen as a career for women, so the female roles were played by men.

Bollywood films are typically filled with music and Dancing. This is highly influenced by culture an it was in the1950's that Hinid was considered at it best, as social critisism bought the films popularity not only in India, but world wide.

Evaluation

I found the overall look difficult to achieve. Warming up the skin tone didn't suit my model, so I attempted a more subtle bronzed look. I was happy with the eye makeup, however I strugggled to match the eyeliner on both eyes. I feel that the chosen colours were appropriate for both my model and theme. Jewellery or mehndi would have been a nice touch to carry the Bollywood theme.
