Winston, S. & Lanning, D.

Winston, S. & Lanning, D.

Here is a shot taken from Don Lannings sculpting DVD from the Stan Winston School collection.

Here he demonstrated uses od fifferent toold and how to achive both realistic and sci-fi textures.

On the left is 'the power of the X' which comes in handy when sculpting skin. The block details to the right were inspiring and some of the shapes used were a representation of Geiger.

The formation of the shapes were interesting to look at as they appear to be in the skin, however my sculpt will be on metal panels.

The variety of shapes used look almost alien, giving a clear distinction of style.

Taking these ideas on board, I will see how I can possibly incroporate these into my sculpt design.

SCULPTING TECHNIQUES

Some more sculpts from Don Lanning shows the different layers of tissue.

I thought this was interesting to look at if I decide to make the brain sculpt look more gorey, still with some areas of hair and flesh around the brain.
