As it was difficult to brush on the Glatzan in layers, I instead tried to stipple on the glatzan and build up the layers, which I thought would avoid streaking and risks of pulling when trying to brush over thicker streaks. However I found that this made the layers extremely thin, so it would have taken longer to make. I continued to brush on the glatzan instead.
CHARACTER 3

This bald cap application by Barry Koper is made using MelCap, which is blended with acetone.
It was interesting to see how large the bald cap was as it covered half of the face. It also appeares extremely thin around the edges and obiously a lot thicker in the centre.
In the future I would consider using this product after reading osme artist reviews of the product.
Using Glatzan because difficult because of its watery consistency, meaning it ran down quickly, making it more difficult to keep the edges thinner.
BALD CAPS IN INDUSTRY
For each character I made a total of three bald caps, this meant I had one for testing, one for the shoot and another as a spare.
For character 1, I made a cap plastic bald cap,as the appearance was not important, as none of it was going to be seen. It was used to protect the hair and aid the application of the Foam Latex piece.
For characters 2 and 3 I extended the length of the bald caps down past the nape of the neck. I took this idea after seeing the extended bald caps on Nick Dudman's presentation of Penny Dreadful.
When Nick Dudman visited AUB, he had an evening talk where he displayed the makeup behind Penny Dreadful. Within his presentation, there were images of the witches who are all bald. Their baldcaps were made longer, so they reached the top of the back. The reason for this was to stop any visible edges in expected areas.
I took this idea and decided to create longer bald caps for my two female characters as this became a key area of detail with the light panel prosthetics.
